Dead faith becomes apparent in times of need ....

BD 6034 August 26th 1954

It will soon become clear to you how weak the faith of those is who only profess Me in name, who live without love. They will take offence at the events which are badly affecting people, and they will begin to doubt Me .... of a being Which is supposed to be exceedingly powerful and wise and does not protect people from the elements of nature and from the arbitrariness of satanic people .... They only possess a dead faith, a formal faith which completely fails in times of adversity. And therefore they also have no anchor to hold on to, and now the lack of love proves itself, which soon causes this faith to be completely lost .... now the truth proves itself that only love awakens faith to life, but that a living faith also guarantees full understanding for everything that happens, because love also kindles the light of realization in the human being and he now also knows about the correlations, about cause and effect and above all about the near end. And if your fellow human beings confess their doubts about God to you, then point out to them why they cannot firmly believe in Me and My ever-ready help .... Seriously remind them of My commandment of love, which I gave to people as the first and most important commandment because I want to bring their faith to such strength that it will endure all adversity without wavering .... because I want to convey understanding to people, because I want to kindle the light of knowledge in them, but without love such is not possible. Nevertheless, people should make a clear decision in the coming adversity .... they should become aware of their weak faith and then either try to strengthen this faith .... which they can certainly succeed in doing if they let their heart rather than their intellect speak .... or they completely turn away from Me, that they deny Me and turn to My adversary, that they further increase their fellow human beings' hardship through their own unkind actions .... but then they will also have to face the fate of the one who is My adversary and who does everything in his power to push people away from Me. The coming events will be tests of faith for all people .... My own will also be afraid and anxiously call out to Me; but they will call out because they believe in Me. And I will stand by them because of their faith .... But those who no longer have the certainty within themselves that I am and that I can help them and therefore do not approach Me for help either, these will openly deny Me, and thus the hitherto dead faith will be revealed .... It will become obvious how little and how rarely a living faith is striven for despite fine words, despite churches and preachers .... It will all turn out to be empty shells that do not contain a core. And it will prove where this church is that I founded on earth .... where the believers are to be found who have a strong faith like Peter .... The rock of faith is the sole emblem of My church, which nothing can shake .... And this faith will have to prove itself in times to come ....
